PREV-AM is an all-in-one insecticide, fungicide and acaricide made from a botanically active substance source, orange oil. PREV-AM is effective on many species of pests and diseases that would normally require many different products to control. Therefore, PREV-AM provides a cross-protection under both open field conditions and in greenhouses.

PREV-AM has a physical and immediate mode of action on target pests and diseases. The high volatility of the active substance from the plant allows application close to the harvest. Orange oil, the active substance, is exempted from a Maximum Residue Limit (MRL), and the pre-harvest interval for the product is very short (check your national label). Compared to conventional plant protection products, PREV-AM is an ideal solution to include in resistance management strategies on a rotational basis, as a “resistance breaker” in order to break the cycle of resistance build-up on some conventional pesticides.

When used in accordance with Good Agricultural Practice, and according to the label instructions, PREV-AM will have a minimal impact on the population of beneficial insects.

PREV-AM has a physical mode of action which desiccates the cuticles of mites and soft bodied insects such as white flies, leafhoppers, thrips, aphids, etc. The active ingredient spreads into the waxy, water repellent layer that protects most insects, breaks through this protective layer and destroys the soft living tissues underneath. The insects are then exposed to loss of body fluids, causing sudden death. Flying insects lose the protective covering and tension in the wings, making them unable to fly.

When used as a fungicide, PREV-AM dries out the protective membranes of the superficial fungal mycelia (hyphae), sporangia and spores breaking them down and exposing them to the drying effect of the atmosphere. Plant tissue damaged by the fungus may also dry out preventing the further spread of infection, but healthy tissue is not affected at the recommended application rate. The physical disruption of the protective layers occurs only upon direct contact while the spray residue remains wet, resulting in immediate knockdown within 24-48 hours.

PREV-AM has been used around the world for many years and users have observed the wash off of honeydew and sooty mould generated by insect pests. As a consequence, plants and fruits are cleaner and healthier.

PREV-AM has a wide spectrum of action that covers all soft bodied pests (insects and mites) and also fungus diseases such as powdery, downy mildew and rust.

Please always refer to the national commercial label for the specific directions for use of PREV-AM. Feel free to contact the local ORO AGRI advisor in your area for more information.

PREV-AM has a wide spectrum of action, which is not crop specific. The mode of action of PREV-AM is only curative and focused on the target.

Please always refer to the national commercial label for the specific directions for use of PREV-AM. Feel free to contact the local ORO AGRI advisor in your area for more information.

When used as directed on the label and according to Good Agricultural Practice, PREV-AM used in a standalone spray will not cause phytotoxicity at the doses indicated on the label. Use caution when used in tank mixes with other agrochemicals and fertilizers. Some cultivars may be more sensitive than others.

Under the low light conditions of wintertime, some protected crops may be soft and weak.  When in doubt, it is recommended to spray a small area before full-scale application.

Please always refer to the national commercial label for the specific directions for use of PREV-AM. Feel free to contact the local ORO AGRI advisor in your area for more information.

Special care should be taken when spraying PREV-AM in a tank mix together with products containing wettable sulphur or copper. We recommend using a reduced rate of copper and sulphur.

Mixtures of PREV-AM with agrochemicals should be used with caution when the fruit is present since ring-burn may occur.

Restrictions of use differ between countries. Please always refer to the national commercial label for the specific directions for use of PREV-AM. Feel free to contact the local ORO AGRI advisor in your area for more information.

The best time for application of most chemical plant protection products is during the early morning or late evening. However, unless experiencing extreme climatic conditions or during a very sensitive stage of crop growth, applications of PREV-AM can be made at the most convenient time of day.

PREV-AM should be applied according to the instructions indicated on the label at the relevant stage of development of the crop.

The action of PREV-AM is based on concentration rather than on the rate per hectare. The label dosage rates usually vary from 0,4% to 0,8% (400-800 ml/100l of water). Lower rates will provide good efficacy on low-pressure infections and easily accessed insects and mites, smaller soft body insects, and fungi. On higher pressure infections or in conditions of harder access to the insects, the higher product dosage is required to have the best performance.

In case of low water volume rate, the PREV-AM concentration may be slightly increased in order to achieve the best performance. However, a concentration of between 400ml/hl and 800 ml/hl should be maintained.

In case of high pest pressure, low water volume rates or in conditions of difficult access to the target site, the PREV-AM concentration may be slightly increased in order to achieve the best performance. However, a maximum concentration of between 400ml/hl and 800 ml/hl should be maintained.

Please always refer to the national commercial label for the specific directions for use of PREV-AM.  Feel free to contact the local ORO AGRI advisor in your area for more information

PREV-AM must be applied as a foliar spray. A good spray quality is needed to optimize the contact action and to maximize the efficiency of the treatment.

Further recommendations:

PREV-AM dissolves and mixes easily. To prevent excessive foaming, always add PREV-AM last to the tank mixture when the tank is nearly full. In some countries, anti-foam agents may be recommended (please refer to label instructions).

PREV-AM is certified eligible for organic farming according to regulation (EC) 834/2007, in some countries such as Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Romania, Germany.

Please always refer to the national commercial label for the specific directions for use of PREV-AM. Feel free to contact the local ORO AGRI advisor in your area for more information.

PREV-AM has outstanding soluble and miscible properties that differentiate it from other pesticides. These properties make PREV-AM highly effective even when the surface being sprayed is wet. However, since the surface water will dilute the concentration of the mixture, we recommend that you increase your standard rate by 25% to 50% (depending on the amount of water present on the canopy surface but not exceeding the maximum label rate) to guarantee the best performance.

We do not recommend high volume overhead irrigations after the application of PREV-AM. Nevertheless, due to the fast action of PREV-AM against the insects, mites and fungi, experience has shown that rainfall or overhead irrigation after the treated foliage has dried off does not greatly influence the efficacy.

Experience has shown that PREV-AM is compatible with most plant protection products and foliar fertilizers. Nevertheless, do not mix PREV-AM with other products unless prior tests (including small scale phytotoxicity tests) prove the combination to be physically compatible, effective and non-injurious to the target crop under local conditions.

In case of tank mixing with other pesticides having the same target, we recommend using the lower dose of both pesticides shown on the respective labels.

Do not mix PREV-AM with adjuvants or oils.

If in doubt about the compatibility of a mixture, it is recommended to contact the Oro Agri technical representative of your area.

When used according to Good Agricultural Practice, and according to the label instructions, PREV-AM will have a minimal impact on the population of beneficial insects. Nevertheless, do not use when bees are actively pollinating.

PREV-AM does not leave any residual effects after treatment therefore beneficial insects can be re-introduced, and bees can be released safely as soon as the flowers are dry.
